Give It a Day

Veteran Atlanta detective John Rawlings has lost his way. Struggling with the grief of losing his wife, Sharon—a woman of faith who kept his world anchored—John battles loneliness, aging, and the harsh reality that he no longer recognizes the man he’s become. With his antique .38 caliber handgun hidden away for when life feels like too much, he's on the edge of giving up. But there's a glimmer of hope, a chance that maybe life still has meaning—if he can find the courage to face each day.Across country, John’s estranged daughter, Heather, fights her own battles: a failing marriage, a stalled career, and the isolation she’s tried to escape by keeping her father at arm's length. Meanwhile, Emily Johnson, John’s warm-hearted but mysterious neighbor, offers him solace with her steadfast faith, though she harbors a past that could turn his understanding of forgiveness on its head. But when Atlanta is rocked by a series of brutal, ritualistic murders of young women, John is called to lend his expertise once more. Plagued by personal demons and a city in fear, he is torn between slipping into despair or standing up to confront the evil lurking on his doorstep. With the help of Shawn, his younger, sharp-witted former partner, John must decide whether he has the strength left to hunt down a ruthless killer before the next victim falls—and before Emily’s life is threatened. In a city gripped by darkness, where is the light? And can John find the faith to believe in redemption, even when his own heart has lost hope?Give It a Day is a riveting exploration of faith, forgiveness, and finding purpose in the most unlikely places.
